FAQ
How do I blur part of my screen when screen sharing?
Install Privacy Blur, click its icon, press "Pick element to blur" and click the part of the page to hide. It stays blurred on Zoom, Google Meet, Teams or any recording.
Does the blur stay after I reload the page?
Yes. Rules are saved per site and applied again on every visit, including single-page apps like YouTube or Gmail that redraw content.
Does it work on WhatsApp Web?
Yes. WhatsApp Web mode blurs the chat list, names, profile photos, messages and media. Hover to read.
Is my data sent anywhere?
No. Everything runs in your browser. The extension has no server for blurring; it never reads or uploads page content.
Which permissions does it need?
Storage for your rules, and access to a site only after you pick an element there. WhatsApp Web access is built in.
Is it free?
Yes: manual blur on any number of sites plus WhatsApp Web. Pro ($19 once) adds automatic blurring of emails, phone numbers and amounts.
